Revive Movers and Shakers
The Movers and Shakers met on Thursday the 4th February. It was agreed that these meetings should carry on when the dreaMS project ends at the end of March, on perhaps a quarterly basis.
Check out the whats on section for details of the next Movers and Shakers event.
Multiple Socialisers
Our meeting in November looked at renaming the Socialisers with a far more ‘groovy’ name. Hey Presto it's done. The Revive Movers and shakers are who we are now! Check out the whats on for details of where we are going for Christmas lunch.
Griphouse
The Griphouse self defence
Instructors from the Griphouse Gym came along to Revive to give us some instruction on how to defend yourself from an assailant. This session was very informative and we all got carried away using the sticks provided. The session was recorded and copies will be available to our clients to allow them to review the instruction given. Speak to Gina if you would like a copy.
We would like to say a big thank you to the guys from the Griphouse gym for facilitating this session.

West Highland Gate
There were two events to the West Highland Gate in Milngavie, one on 18th June in the evening and the other at lunchtime on the 23rd July. Tapas style of food was prepared for our clients by the West Highland gate and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. There was no charge made to the clients and this in itself made the event appreciated!
Our thanks go to the West Highland Gate for these events.
Lomond Shores Continental Market
August saw us going out to the Continental Market it was lovely day weather wise and again considered a success to those present. One of our clients had an impromptu birthday celebration with balloons and a birthday cake in the The Kilted Skirlie Restaurant and Cocktail Bar which looks over the Loch. This was a lovely way to end the day - sitting in the sun looking over the Loch.
INDEPEN-DANCE
INDEPEN-DANCE came along to our centre to run a taster danceability movement class. The class proved to be great fun, enjoyable and a great way to keep fit!
This session was extremely popular, Gina was quite pleased the screen was up blocking the view from the main building and everyone was able to enjoy the session expresing themselves freely!
We would like to thank Claire and Wills of INDEPEN-DANCE.
INDEPEN-DANCE stated that they would be willing to run a fortnightly class. Anyone who is interested should speak to Gina.
Multiple Socializer
January Multiple Socialiser
January’s ‘theme’ was games. We made use of the wii games consol and had a game of Bowling. A great time was had by all and some of our clients turned in to real bowling sharks. We had sweeties, popcorn and coke to keep our strength up!Keep an eye on the website to find out what the theme of the next Socialiser which is happening in March is.
Mindfullness session
Jotypakshini from the western Buddhist Centre came along to Revive to give a presentation on mindfulness a meditative approach to coping with life challenges such as chronic illness.Joty introduced us to thinking mindfully; we were all studying a raisin at one point and listening to it!? We looked at how we breathe and did some breathing work. Thankfully no one forgot to breath! The session was finished off by us doing mindful movements and relaxation. We would like to thank Jotypakshini for coming along and leading this session
Multiple Socialisers
November Multiple Socialiser - St Andrews Day
We all enjoyed a wonderful St Andrews day celebration. Our host Mr Ken Alexander was decked out in full highland dress, we had Scottish music and the Saltire decorating the centre table. There was haggis, potatoes and neeps to eat but first of all Ken addressed the Haggis! After enjoying our Scottish Fayre, there was a Scottish Quiz which was fun, Gina was impressed with our clients' knowledge of Scotland and all things Scottish. She had run the questions past several members of staff and the clients scored better than they did. Next month's theme will be wii games so get your name down soon!
We really want to thank Ken Alexander who was a wonderful host.

The dreaMS team have revived the Multiple Socialisers events from a few years ago (No pun intended!). We had a meeting to discuss if and how you would like to see these evenings take shape before tucking into some great carry out food.
