Canyoning

Canyoning

What is it?

It can be hard to explain the attraction of canyons to someone who has never been canyoning. "Deep", "dark" and "primeval" are words that come to mind. Canyoning is the descent of a river, stream or burn using ropes for lowered descents, plunge pools and natural rock flumes.

This is a great adventure and we are sure you'll come back to try other canyons!

There are a few different canyoning sites that we go to.  The site we visit on the day will depend on the water levels and the group.  The heights of the jumps vary depending on the site and go up to just under 40 feet.  We also do a 65foot lower down a waterfall in the full day trip.

What Experience is needed?
You have an experienced guide to take through the canyon; the only thing you need to be able to do is swim.  The minimum age for canyoning is 12years old.

What do I Need to Bring?
You will need a swimming costume, a towel, a long sleeved sweatshirt or jumper, a pair of shoes or trainers (that will get wet) and a sense of humour. We will provide you with a wetsuit, buoyancy aid, and helmet.
